Easter Treats

Coop with his works of art...

Alex and Dylan came over to make treats.  The kids ate a ridiculous amount of sugar, but seemed to enjoy themselves...nothing like chocolate eggs, frosting, sprinkles, Peeps, and rice krispie bars for lunch!

Cameron working on his masterpiece!

Coop had a blast decorating with Alex and she did a great job watching over him...ensuring he was getting plenty of sugar!

Kindergarten and Legos

It's been a hard year for Cameron...we hoped kindergarten would be a time of sweet words and stories about our boy who would be lucky to have a teacher who celebrated his strengths. This has not been the case, and we are seriously just biding our time until the year is over. We are working hard at home to help Cameron do his best, but struggle with the fact that much of what he does for us he won't or doesn't do at school. The year has had its ups and downs and is, like anything, a learning process. It can only get better-right?! Cameron is working hard this week to earn some Lego Star Wars figurines...yes, we are offering rewards and hope that our dear Lego friends are "the carrot" our little rabbit will strive to earn!

Spring Getaway

Playing around at Underwater Adventures

Coop on the lion...he wanted to pet it.

Coop at Legoland...Cam was busy making cars to race on the lego track.

Cam ready to "Cowboy Up" on the merry-go-round

We enjoyed a little spring getaway with the boys this weekend and headed to the Mall of America.  We started by going to Underwater Adventures which was wonderful.  We took Cam when he was about two, but this time both he and Coop were definitely at the perfect age to really enjoy themselves.  The tunnel was fantastic and the boys loved that they were able to see sharks, sting rays, turtles, and more up close and personal.  After that we went to Legoland where the boys played with Legos and then we headed to the Lego store.  Cameron found the Stars Wars Lego people he had been searching for....if all goes well at school this week he will take possession of them on Friday! :)  After playing we took a break, so the boys could sit and relax with Bryant and I could run into at least one store...which of course was Children's Place to buy a few things for the boys.  I couldn't very well go all the way to the MOA and not go into any stores (Yet, I wish I had a chance to do a grown up store!)! :)  After resting it was time to meet up with the Hanson/Campbell crew.  We had a chance to meet sweet Kyla and the boys hit the rides with Keifer.  It was so fun to see all the kids together and I hope we can do it more often, especially since Carrie and I have the summer off!  After the rides we all headed up to the Cantina for dinner, on the 4th floor, which was very good.  The kiddos did well, but in the end they were wound up and ready to run!  We said our goodbyes and then headed to the hotel where we hit the pool right away!  After a day at the mall, hanging with friends, swimming, etc. we all were asleep by 8:30!  Of course, the boys were ready to swim by 6:20 this morning!!!!  We swam, got ready, packed up, went for breakfast and were on our way home by 9 a.m.-talk about efficient!  Our weekend ended with a BEAUTIFUL, SUNNY day...we spent the entire day outside, enjoyed bbq chicken from the grill, and our boys hit the pillows and were out by 7:15!!!
Happy Spring to you all!!!

Me:  "Your what?

Cooper:  "MY NUGGETS!!!!"

Hello Sunshine!

It's like having all new toys when you open the box of sand toys that have been stored all winter!

It doesn't take long for the boys to have their shirts off, so they can enjoy the sun even more!

Cameron was all about having shorts on...the boys also asked for the slip and slide to be set up, but we did decline!

Our first deck picnic of the year!

Boy, did we ever need the sunshine! It was wonderful to have the windows and doors open filling up the house with FRESH air! Summer we are so looking forward to your arrival!

Spilt Milk

My Guys

I picked up Cameron from Kidstop today and was stopped by one of the staff before I found Cameron.  I was nervous about what she would say since this week has been rough for Cameron, who continues to show his stubborn side...where does this come from??  Anyway, the news was great news that made me very proud.  She told me that during snack time one of the kids had spilt milk on the floor and kids noticed the milk, but they were jumping over the milk, walking around it, and overall ignoring the fact that someone should be wiping it up.   Needless to say, the staff did a little "test" to see whether anyone would do something or if they would end up having to take care of it.  At this point, our proud moment took place because Cameron noticed the milk, grabbed some paper towels, wiped up the milk, and threw the towels away.  The staff was very impressed that he took it upon himself to do this and therefore he was able to put his name in the "Caught You Doing Something Good" box for a prize.  My sweet boy might pee all over his brother, but when it comes to spilt milk he's on the job!

Boys and their ....

The start to our day was, well I don't even know what to say about it expect, UGH!  Our boys keep us on our toes at all times, but yesterday's escapades had even our mouths hanging open in astonishment, disgust, and surprise!  Here's how it started...Bryant and I woke to the sound of the boys playing together which has become their normal routine on the weekends.  The boys play for about 15-20 minutes and then come and jump on us until we wake up.  Yesterday, we heard them playing and then heard them head to the bathroom where they often need to take a pee at the same time...they can't seem to wait for the other one and fight for who gets to go first.  In this case, they both couldn't wait and were going together (which is usually fine because they are going IN the toilet) when we heard laughing and one of them say, "You peed on me!" and the laughing continued.  Bryant jumped from bed and headed to the bathroom where he found two little boys COVERED in pee, a floor glistening with pee, magazines soggy with pee, and a shower curtain hanging in disgust, smelling of pee! Yes, it's true a "pissing match" literally took place in my home!  Oh my, it's going to be quite the ride with these two!

Mad Scientist

Adding a little "blood" to the "brain sludge"

What will happen if I add this "magic" powder

and a little powdered sugar

Cameron is our little scientist...always wanting to combine things to see what will happen! We bought him a science kit for Christmas and he was thrilled!! We made "brain sludge" (above) and before that Cameron made some glow-in-the-dark goo that we covered our hands with-we spent a good amount of time in the bathroom watching our hands glow! Fun, Fun!

SO proud!

Here's what happens when your boys find markers and discover their parents are not in sight...they were very proud of their beards and the "tattoos" that covered their legs!!!! Bryant was not very happy and neither was I, but they were so pleased with themselves that I couldn't help but take a picture! The markers were washable, but I still had to SCRUB until the bathwater was BLUE! What did we do for entertainment before we had these two mischievous boys??!!

Happy Birthday, Lucy!

Ready to dig in!
Ready, Set, Blow!
Is it time for cake yet?The Sharpe crew!
We headed to Starbuck to celebrate Lucy's 2nd birthday and got a chance to do our now annual sledding race... Bryant was the big winner this year! Lucy was as cute as ever and had prepped for our arrival by putting stuffed animals and blankies on our beds. The boys were delighted to hang out with her and to sled, see the horses, and play, play, play! Fun was had by all and we continue to be amazed at how quick these little ones grow...before we know it they'll all be teenagers!

Birthday Morning!

Cooper requested blueberry pancakes with sprinkles for breakfast.
Showing me his THREE fingers!
Playing with his new grocery store set-up...for some reason Bryant and I ended up with a lot more money then we started with when shopping at Coop's store! Good deals!

Setting up the store
Cameron helping Coop to read what was on his package.

After the festivities yesterday we were much more low-key today. Slow morning with breakfast and play, watched the movie, UP (Cam gave it to Coop), and then played some more. Later on we took in a matinee of Alvin and the Chipmunks-The Squeakquel...the boys enjoyed it. After that it was rest/nap time, boys woke up and we played with their new Playmobil Pet Clinic for quite sometime, watched half of UP again, and then our big 3 year old and his big brother were off to bed. A fun weekend!
